The following is part of the partial transcription of some practical operational meetings to explain the distillation of essential oils in the amateur sector and the possibility for everyone to produce an excellent essential oil themselves using the "steam current" extraction technique

A parameter not to be overlooked in the choice of Essential Oil is the perfume most pleasing to the user. To facilitate in this sense, Essential Oils are classified in Notes of perfumes.

Olfactory Note - Head:
They are the scents of the first impact, of the first impression. Volatile, refreshing, stimulating with a light fragrance that evaporates in about two hours. Intense at first they fade with the passage of time. High and subtle vibrations have a calming effect.

Olfactory Note - Heart:
They last longer than the scents of Testa and go straight to the heart. Soft, emotional, stimulating, harmonizing, calming, they develop slowly to evaporate in about three hours. They are perfumes, obtained from flowers and floral herbs, which seduce nose and heart. They have a wide, light frequency that leads to the heart.

Olfactory Notes - Basic:
Much less volatile bring with them the pleasure of long duration. Harmonising, reinforcing, calming reveal warmth and depth. They have a low frequency, dense with a warm, heavy, deep scent that leads to the earth.
